I "just finished nights" - a common statement used to invoke sympathy and rationale for our bad mood, forgetfulness and inability to participate in normal society for 1-2 business days.

"BUT YOU CHOSE THIS CAREER" - damn right I did, but I didn't know at 20 years old I was choosing to be an unstable, emotionally-challenged wreck on the reg.
